When first starting out looking for a bartending position, many struggled. Did not know what to do and had absolutely no idea about the hospitality industry at all. So what most folks do is what most humans do. just went online and applied for a few bartending positions which then turned up on an employment site. This is one of the best ways to find a bartending position but in my opinion this is not the best.
The best way to find great bartending positions is to network within the bars and clubs you frequent the most. This way you will know who the key people are within the clubs and who might be able to help you out with a position if you are turned down by another establishment. For example, you may have friends or colleagues at a club you frequent that have the ability to hire bartenders and get you a lot of work. If you work at bars and clubs that allow bartenders to work behind the scenes, then they may even know of someone who works behind the scenes and can get you laid for the night or weekend.
Another way to find great bartending positions is to look within the bars themselves. Look at the employee page, which often times has a listing of shifts and hours of availability along with the minimum wage. Often times these employees will have bartending experience and previous shifts listed and will be willing to talk with you as well as recommend other employers within the area. Often times they will even be happy to show you some other opportunities within the area so you can make your choice. It’s often best to go to these places of business with a list of your requirements along with some references so you can get a good idea of the actual quality of service offered.
